Apple announced the new Apple M3 series processors early this morning, consisting of the Apple M3, Apple M3 Pro, and Apple M3 Max processors. These three processors are all built using advanced 3nm technology, delivering significant improvements in both performance and power efficiency.
Here’s what we know: the Apple M3 chip comes with an 8-core CPU, a 10-core GPU, and can support up to 24GB of RAM. The Apple M3 Pro, on the other hand, features a 12-core CPU, an 18-core GPU, and supports up to 36GB of RAM. However, when it comes to specs, the real star of the M3 series is the M3 Max.
The all-new Apple M3 Max chip boasts a 16-core CPU, a 40-core GPU, and can support a whopping 128GB of RAM! Apple claims that the performance from this stacked set of cores is at least 40% better than the original Apple M1 chip. Moreover, when compared to the x86 competition, even the latest i9 processors fall short of the Apple M3 Max!
Additionally, Apple has enhanced the GPU capabilities in the M3 series, introducing features like Ray-Tracing and Dynamic Caching. These processors also come with improved NPUs (Neural Processing Units) to assist with AI computations.
Apple has announced that this new M3 series processor will make its debut in the Apple MacBook Pro!
