Disappointing news for Apple fans who were eagerly anticipating the new iPhone 15 Pro series with solid-state buttons.
It has just been revealed by renowned Apple analyst, Ming-Chi Kuo, that the much-hyped design has been cancelled due to technical issues that could not be overcome before production.
Kuo’s latest research shows that the two high-end models in the iPhone 15 Pro series (Pro & Pro Max) will revert to the original physical button design, disappointing investors who were hoping that the new solid-state button design would increase revenue and profits for suppliers.
Kuo also mentioned that cancelling the solid-state button design will simplify the development and testing process, and the impact on the production time and shipment quantity of the Pro models should be limited.
It is worth noting that Kuo had previously reported in October last year that the iPhone 15 Pro models would feature solid-state buttons that would simulate the feel of a physical button without requiring any physical movement. Unfortunately, it seems that this feature will not make it into the final product.
