TnG eWallet non-transferable fund cannot be used on JomPAY starting from today!

As of today, Touch n Go eWallet no longer allows their user to use non-transferable funds on JomPAY anymore!

Lots of users have complained that after reloading their Touch n Go eWallet, they cannot make JomPAY to make payments to their bill, only to find out that Touch n Go have silently removed the ability to make payment for JomPAY using non-transferable fund.

TnG eWallet non-transferable fund cannot be used on JomPAY starting from today!

As per their app states, non-transferable eWallet balance is now forbidden to use JomPAY, alongside with other functionality such as investments, GO+, and transferring the balance to other bank account, or other Touch n Go eWallets.

This sudden change is probably because people abusing Touch n Go reload pin, using it to earn cashback and make repayment to their loan, causing bank complaining to Touch n Go.

Touch n Go reload pin, credit card cashback, and loan interests

Previously, users have been using credit card to buy Touch n Go reload pin from Lazada, in order to earn that sweet cashback deal from online spending. The cashback rate varies around 3% to 8%, and capped at RM50 per month.

However, this is more than enough as loan interest are usually around 3% to 4%. Repaying loan with this method is basically zero interest.

Not to mention, JomPAY has the ability to make payment to taxes as well, therefore everyone is earning cashback at government bodies, which usually is not eligible for cashback based on credit card policies.

It is sad to see reload pin no longer can use JomPAY payment, however there will always be newer “lubang”

At the time of writing this article, Touch n Go has yet to make any statement on this matter.
