According to Reddit users in the subreddit /r/YouTube, YouTube has recently started aggressively blocking ad blockers and is forcing users to disable their ad blockers in order to continue watching YouTube videos!
If users insist on not disabling their ad blockers, the video will automatically stop playing after three minutes and a pop-up window will appear asking the user to turn off their ad blocker!
Users are allowed to play three videos for three minutes each. After the three videos, YouTube will block the ability to play videos on YouTube directly until the user uninstalls or disables the ad blocker!
It’s worth noting that, according to Reddit users’ sharing, the affected ad blockers include AdBlock Plus, Ghostery, and the built-in ad blocker in Brave Browser, and they affect both mobile and desktop platforms at the same time!
UBlock Origin is not affected at the time of writing this article.
